How we build schools
Our vision
India is not rebuilt in parliaments or markets. It is rebuilt in people.
More than a century ago, Swami Vivekananda gave India its method: Vyaktinirmaan se Rashtranirmaan — nation-building through individual-building. We exist to make that call operational, one child, one family, one community at a time.
The lineage
A hundred-year-old instruction, finally taken literally.
Vivekananda did not ask India for sympathy. He asked for builders — men and women of character who would give themselves to others and, in giving, remake the country. Most generations admired the instruction. Ours decided to execute it.
So we start where he pointed: at the individual. A child of multi-dimensional poverty who learns with dignity becomes a graduate. A graduate formed in character, service and enterprise becomes a builder. Builders, organised into institutions and clubs, become a nation rebuilding itself. That is the entire theory of change — and since 2021 it has been running as a school, a movement and a growing family of institutions.

What we build into a person
Six qualities make a nation-builder.
Every institution we run and every programme we design develops the same six qualities. Marks measure one of them. We insist on all six.
Character
The refusal to cut corners when no one is watching. Everything else we build stands on this — which is why it comes first, not last.
Personality
Confidence, presence and the strength to hold one's own in any room — a child of Bagalur should walk into a boardroom without shrinking.
Knowledge
Rigorous scholastics, rooted in India's civilisational depth and open to the world's best — knowledge that understands, not merely recalls.
Skills
The ability to do — to make, fix, communicate, compute and earn. A person of skill is never at the mercy of circumstance.
Leadership
Taking responsibility for outcomes beyond oneself — first for a team, then a community, eventually a field of national life.
Entrepreneurship
Seeing a problem and building the answer. Nation-builders create jobs, institutions and solutions — they do not wait for them.
The founder
Dr Varun Murthy
Founder & Secretary, Rebuild India Foundation Director, Noble International School Founder-Custodian, ARISE
Dr Varun Murthy is a physician who chose classrooms as his operating theatre. In medicine since 2007 (MBBS, KIMS Bangalore), he has spent more than fifteen years in education — founding five institutions, impacting 1.5 lakh students and 10,000 teachers, and collaborating with 150 institutions across the country.
The clearest test of his method came in Meghalaya, where he led STAR 30: 48 students selected from all 12 districts of the state, of whom 17 won medical seats in the first cohort — first-generation doctors from communities that had rarely sent anyone to medical college. A second cohort of 36 is underway.
He is the author of Arjuna to You: The Bhagavad Gita for the Young Indian, and his work carries one inheritance above all: Swami Vivekananda's conviction that a rebuilt individual is the only durable unit of a rebuilt nation.
